Autumn is approaching, and Garda Trentino Xmas Trail is getting ready to fire up its engines. The off-season version of Garda Trentino Trail, thanks to the unique setting of Upper Garda, offers excellent running conditions even in December.

The appointment is set for Saturday, December 12, with the race headquarters at the mouth of the Sarca River, between the municipalities of Nago-Torbole and Arco. Two challenges will once again be on offer: the 30-kilometre course, following the boundaries of the “Busa” valley with 1,400 metres of elevation gain, and the XS version, covering half the distance and featuring the famous Busatte-Tempesta trail on the western slopes of Monte Baldo, high above Lake Garda.

Now in its ninth edition, the Garda Trentino Trail Christmas event set a new registration record in December 2025. For the first time, participation broke through the 1,000 mark, reaching 1,226 runners. It is an important milestone from which the organizing committee is now moving forward, side by side with its bigger brother, La Sportiva Garda Trentino Trail, which will return from May 14 to 16 with a new format and a prestigious new title sponsor.

Registration for both events will open on September 1, with the opportunity to take advantage of a special combined offer: from September 1 to 15, everyone registered for La Sportiva Garda Trentino Trail will receive 50% off registration for either of the two Garda Trentino Xmas Trail distances.

The lakeside stretch between the Sarca River and Riva del Garda, the climb to the Bastione and then on to Tenno Castle and its picturesque villages, the passage through the olive groves of Arco beneath the castle, the ascent towards Monte Corno and its Austro-Hungarian World War I trenches, the descent towards Nago and Castel Penede, and the final section through the characteristic Santa Lucia valley towards Torbole: these are the highlights of the 30-kilometre course.

A course that remains runnable in all conditions, offering the chance to experience a true trail adventure in a different season.
